Michael Evans spent 16 years with USA TODAY before leaving to work in the video conferencing and satellite communications industry for various clients. While working with Oregon EdNet video conferencing customers at 37 universities, colleges, hospitals, and ESDs he began to see the potential for educational technology, collaborative learning tools, and the Internet. After gaining video streaming, advanced graphics, and online knowledgebase skills in the dot com industry he worked as the video conferencing specialist for the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges for two years before beginning a new venture as a consultant in video and collaborative technologies. Michael holds a bachelor's degree in management from National-Louis University in Illinois and an MBA from the University of Phoenix along with a variety of certificates and licenses. He is most engaged when helping people and technology work well together. Michael enjoys family, friends, music, living in Thurston County, and having the opportunity to support Tumwater students and staff through involvement with the Tumwater Education Foundation.
