Nancy Lomax Evans attended Tumwater Schools from kindergarten to 12th grade, graduating from Tumwater High School in 1977. While majoring in Elementary Education, she returned to Tumwater to do her student teaching and later became a teacher at Black Lake Elementary and Peter G. Schmidt. She taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grade for about 16 years. In 1997, she took some time off from her career to be a stay-at-home mom. Her son is a graduate of Black Hills High School and her daughter is a student at Black Lake Elementary. Nancy is a Cadette Girl Scout Troop Leader, Camporee Director, and a Daisy/Brownie leader coach as well as a member of the Black Lake Elementary PTA, helping with science enrichment and the annual science fair. Nancy works at The Valley Athletic Club as a certified water fitness instructor and as a substitute teacher in Tumwater and Olympia. She and her husband, Michael, highly value education and lifelong learning.
